The following list consists of all the cruelty-free brands we have vetted as cruelty-free based on our criteria, which can be found below. Its purpose is to help you shop truly cruelty-free no matter which products you need, and no matter what your budget is, anywhere and at any stores. You can use the filter to narrow the list based on your needs or preferences.
This list is for those who wish to avoid brands that test on animals or fund animal testing, and purchase only from the brands that have been vetted as cruelty-free. This means that the brands on our list have confirmed that no animal testing is performed on their finished products or ingredients during production, either by their company, their suppliers, or any third parties.
In order to ensure the brands we support do not put themselves at risk of animal testing, we do not consider brands that sell in China to be cruelty-free even if they use certain loopholes.

Our Criteria
All the brands found on this list were vetted to be cruelty-free, meaning:
- Finished Products: Their finished products are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Ingredients: Their ingredients are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Suppliers: Their suppliers do not test ingredients, raw materials, or finished products on animals.
- Third Parties: No third party is testing their finished products or ingredients animal on their behalf.
- Required by Law: They don’t test on animals where the law requires it, and are not sold in mainland China.

For example, you can look for cruelty-free hair care sold at Ulta, or choose to filter by skincare brands that are Leaping Bunny certified and 100% vegan and ship to your country, and so on. This system makes it easy to find cruelty-free brands that are tailored to you and your needs.

Coincidentally the girl who posted after me, Sophie, is my source. She has a website http://www.naoki.nl and lists all brands that are sold in the Netherlands on if they’re cruelty free/natural/vegan etc. Recently she posted a video sharing that she found out that Burt’s Bees has started selling in China.

Does anyone know if Jouer is truly cruelty free? It looks as those though they are, however I’m not sure if they sell in China.
Makeup Reevolution London sells in Japan and Singapore. Asia demands animal tesing before they allow selling in there. Therefore: no more cruelty free.
I have a question about Heritage Store products. Are they cruelty free? I am looking for a cruelty free replacement for MAC fix+. I know there are plenty of DIY’s and that Mario Badescu makes a mist. That there are also great mists from Jane Iredale, Tatcha, and Pixi, but none are quite right (maybe Jane Iredale, but super pricey and the DIY’s have a very short shelf life). I was just wondering.because the ingredient list looked better than the MB product and the price point is about $6 for 8oz
Some NYX products are made in China, so would be tested on animals. Also you’ve missed of Natural Collection, though that might just be in Boots in the UK ?
Any word if Farmacy is CF? Sephora website says not tested.

Shaklee has 350+ Cruelty free products. Don’t see them on the list. Wow there are a lot more responsible brands out there that I ever imagined! Good to know.
Just curious here, but Menscience is a sponsor on this site, but yet it is not on the cruelty-free list. Their website claims that they are. Just wondering if they are or are not. And if they are not, why would they be a sponsor?
Hey Jeff! The brands you see in ads here are NOT my sponsors and not all of them will be cruelty-free. I use a third party for ads and I don’t hand-pick anything unfortunately.
I used to use ogx hair products but now they sell in China. I’ve switched over to a company called HASK, have you heard of them? They claim to be cruelty free and do not animal testing at all, how can I know for sure? I love their products and hope they are truly cruelty free because I hate having to search for a new brand again.
Why does PETA state Bath n Body Works ( L Brands) is cruelty free but on your list ( which I respect because you constantly update it) does not. Did something change?

Carmex, by Carma Laboratories Inc. states that they do not, and have not tested on animals. Its in their FAQ on their website.

Do you happen to know if the perfumes from Anthropologie are cruelty free?
Hempz Body Lotion was offered at a very good discount at Ulta. Their lotion bottle does read that this product is 100% vegan. Their age-defying Herbal Body Moisturizer is a very good product which I have been using for months. Does anyone have any information on the Hempz products or their parent company?

Hi! Organix no longer lists China as a retail country, and their packaging says cruelty free. Have they corrected themselves? I know they seem to care a lot about animal welfare, but PETA still lists them as animal testers.

Hi, is there a reason Lavera isn’t on the list? They say they don’t carry out animal testing and over 100 products are certified by the Vegan Society: http://www.truenatural.com/blog/animal-testing-regulations-in-the-us-and-europe/. Also, have you looked into Eden Perfumes, Brighton? They match favourite perfumes and claim to be 100% vegan and not tested on animals http://www.edenperfumes.co.uk/
thank you for posting this! A few other brands I recommend is Kenra (hair), Alterna, Whamisa, Belif, Amorepacific (but their subsidiaries are not), Root Science, REN, Murad, and Kate Somerville.
Another company that I love that is not on this list is A.G. Hair Products. They have the PETA Bunny Logo on their products. Maybe you could confirm this and add it to the list? Thanks!
