The following list consists of all the cruelty-free brands we have vetted as cruelty-free based on our criteria, which can be found below. Its purpose is to help you shop truly cruelty-free no matter which products you need, and no matter what your budget is, anywhere and at any stores. You can use the filter to narrow the list based on your needs or preferences.
This list is for those who wish to avoid brands that test on animals or fund animal testing, and purchase only from the brands that have been vetted as cruelty-free. This means that the brands on our list have confirmed that no animal testing is performed on their finished products or ingredients during production, either by their company, their suppliers, or any third parties.
In order to ensure the brands we support do not put themselves at risk of animal testing, we do not consider brands that sell in China to be cruelty-free even if they use certain loopholes.

Our Criteria
All the brands found on this list were vetted to be cruelty-free, meaning:
- Finished Products: Their finished products are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Ingredients: Their ingredients are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Suppliers: Their suppliers do not test ingredients, raw materials, or finished products on animals.
- Third Parties: No third party is testing their finished products or ingredients animal on their behalf.
- Required by Law: They don’t test on animals where the law requires it, and are not sold in mainland China.

For example, you can look for cruelty-free hair care sold at Ulta, or choose to filter by skincare brands that are Leaping Bunny certified and 100% vegan and ship to your country, and so on. This system makes it easy to find cruelty-free brands that are tailored to you and your needs.

Hi Suzi! I saw numerous people asked about Palmers, but haven’t seen a resolution. Their website and products say that they do not test on animals. Do you know any more about them?

It looks like Palmer’s sells products in China. This is what they claim on another site: “Our products registered in China are all body lotions and all classified as “ordinary products” for registration purposes. ” They go on to say that Chinese laws aren’t clear and that their products weren’t tested on animals in China, but I think it’s safer not buy from companies who sell in China.
Agreed, and I reached out to them via email and they never responded (its been a month).
I have a quick question. I recently received ‘tini beauty eyeshadow in my ipsy bag. They claim to be cruelty free others also claim it is but is says it is made in China. How can this still be cruelty free? I did not see it on your cruelty free products list nor does it appear on Peta’s site. It also doesn’t have either rabbit logo. Am I safe to assume this is not cruelty free? If it isn’t CF I will chuck it in the bin like all of the other offenders. Thanks!
Made in China doesn’t mean it’s tested on animals. The animal testing law only applies to products sold there! That being said, I don’t know anything about that brand, but Ipsy isn’t exclusively cruelty-free.

I wanted to know why is Lush on the list of companies that “pretend to be natural”. I buy a lot of things there because I thought it was as natural as it could get.
They use a lot of natural and harmless ingredients, but some products also contain things like parabens.
I saw on the Thierry Mugler site that they do not test on animals, that’s definitely a great suggestion for a designer scent. My favorite perfume is Angel and my husbands favorite is Alien – so I was overjoyed to find they were one of the few cruelty free perfumes. Can anyone confirm this for me ?
Thierry Mugler is made by Clarins who do test.
Renpure Originals shampoos and conditioners?

I saw a few people asking this question, and I bought their shampoo/conditioner under the impression that the label on the bottle was accurate (not tested on animals, only on the Redmond’s), but had some questions as well since I couldn’t find it on Suzi’s list or other prominent cruelty free blogs. I reached out to them and this is the message I received from their customer service team “Thank
you for reaching out! At Renpure we strongly believe in protecting animals from product testing. We do NOT test our products on animals,
and we absolutely do not contract a third party organization to do animal testing for us. We also do NOT sell to China, or Hong Kong, and all of our products are Vegan. Finally, we are a private family owned company and are in no way owned or operated by another company. Hope this answers your questions!”

Love love love this blog!! Just curious about why the Pinterest list is so short? I noticed many brands not on the info graphic which do make the longer cruelty-free list (Odacite, One Love Organics, John Masters Organics, Suki, Shamanuti, Dr. Dennis Gross, Weleda, etc.) Can you comment on companies that do not test on animals but are owned by a parent company that does (i.e. Dermalogica, Urban Decay, Tarte, Origins, etc.) Vegan food is so simple. It’s made of plants. But cruelty-free cosmetics are so difficult to keep up with given constant acquisitions and entries into the China market.

Hi.We using Artistry and as we know, they doesnt have animal testing. And I was looking here the price, I can claim Artistry with that 40Years still cheap, plus give extra money just with shopping it.

So excited to see Mehron on here! You should also add La Femme, L.A. Girl, Velour Lashes, and Crazy Merman. That last one is new, I think, but it’s cruelty-free and vegan. Only Camera Ready Cosmetics seems to carry it. 🙂
