The following list consists of all the cruelty-free brands we have vetted as cruelty-free based on our criteria, which can be found below. Its purpose is to help you shop truly cruelty-free no matter which products you need, and no matter what your budget is, anywhere and at any stores. You can use the filter to narrow the list based on your needs or preferences.
This list is for those who wish to avoid brands that test on animals or fund animal testing, and purchase only from the brands that have been vetted as cruelty-free. This means that the brands on our list have confirmed that no animal testing is performed on their finished products or ingredients during production, either by their company, their suppliers, or any third parties.
In order to ensure the brands we support do not put themselves at risk of animal testing, we do not consider brands that sell in China to be cruelty-free even if they use certain loopholes.
For brands that do test on animals, make sure to visit our list of Companies That Test On Animals.
Our Criteria
All the brands found on this list were vetted to be cruelty-free, meaning:
- Finished Products: Their finished products are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Ingredients: Their ingredients are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Suppliers: Their suppliers do not test ingredients, raw materials, or finished products on animals.
- Third Parties: No third party is testing their finished products or ingredients animal on their behalf.
- Required by Law: They don’t test on animals where the law requires it, and are not sold in mainland China.

There’s a new brand they’re selling at Walmart now called Kokie Cosmetics which is cruelty free!
Hi Molly! Thanks for the tip- I’ll look into it. 🙂
Orange Owl is a small batch artisan handmade all vegan company from Vermont that has my all time favorite lip balm! They should be on this list ?.
hi suzy,
could you confirm me if The All Natural Face brand is 100% vegan, PETA or Leaping Bunny certified?? thanks for reply.
Hi i have doubts about Petal Fresh products, they do claim in their website to be cruelty free but i did not see the certificate, can you confirm if they are or not? thanks.
Hello darling! I live in Spain and while looking for a cruelty-free eyeliner, I found a brand called BENECOS, which shows the cruelty-free logo by PETA. I wanted to check on your list and I didn’t see it. Maybe it’s not a famous brand or I don’t know. I just wanted to tell you in case you consider adding it to your list <3 Thanks for your efforts!
Here's the website, in case you could find something about that brand 🙂 https://www.ecco-verde.es/benecos/natural-liquid-eyeliner
7th heaven, a face mask company is also cruelty free if you want to add that 🙂 it has a cruelty free international logo, the peta logo, and the vegetarian standard logo x
Thanks so much! I’ll save all the links!
Hi there! I wasn’t aware of Method testing on daphnia so I went to their website where they said something about this and not agreeing with it. http://methodhome.com/blog/our-cruelty-free-mission-2/ Does this mean they no longer do it?
Wonderful news! They’re back on the list, thank you.
How do you feel about morphe?
On some of my Lip Smacker tags, it has that it’s cruelty free on them, however I don’t see them on the list. Are they lying?
Hi Suzi. Do you know if Universal Beauty is cruelty free? I have a sample of their cheek & lip stain. Thanks!
What is superdrug to be specific? When i clicked the link I’ve seen a lot of products that are not cruelty free. Please clarify this. Thanks.
Do you know if Sun Bum is cruelty free? Their website says they are but I thought you might know a little bit more.
Hi Piper! We’re not familiar with the cruelty-free status of Sun Bum right now, but I would recommend reaching out to them! Make sure to ask them about their finished products, ingredients, suppliers, as well as third party testing. Another thing to consider is whether or not they sell in mainland China, where animal testing is mandatory by law.
Hi Suzi, Nudestix is actually sold on the Chinese Sephora site, which would indicate that they are not cruelty free. Please up date your site for others because they will be under the false impression that they are buying cruelty free. Thanks
Hi Nicole, thanks for your comment! We are looking into this.
Hey! does anyone here know if the brand Flormar tests on animals and if any of their products are vegan? 🙂
We’re not familiar with the cruelty-free status of Flormar right now, but I would suggest reaching out to them! Make sure to ask them about their finished products, ingredients, suppliers, as well as third party testing. Another thing to consider is whether or not they sell in mainland China, where animal testing is mandatory by law.
Hello, I was wondering how do you know if a company truly is cruelty free? How do you know they are not lying? P.S. love your website
Thanks so much for your kind words! Looking for the Leaping Bunny and PETA certifications is a good start, and we’re also working on a template (to be shared in an upcoming post) which can be used to email brands specific questions about their policy.
Add ARBONNE to the list!! Vegan, cruelty free and no animal by products. They have been around for over 30 years and have never tested on animals!
Does cruelty-free also mean that companies don’t use palm oil?
I have so many makeup products that I love that become so limited when I eliminate palm oil and most makeup that doesn’t have palm oil is from from the vegan side of Etsy.
What are your thoughts on using makeup with palm oil in it? How do we know if the palm oil is acquired in a sustainable manner? If the makeup brand is on PETA, can we assume that these companies don’t use palm oil? Do you use makeup with palm oil? What do you think?
Hi, thanks for all your help with making the transition to cruelty a lot easier! I was wondering about Marc Anthony hair products?
Hi – what about Marc Anthony? I love this website thank you for making going cruelty free so easy!
Hello. Thank you for the list. I believe Marks and Spencer products are cruelty free too.
Hi! Jeffree Star cosmetics is also cruelty free 🙂
Do you know if Makeup revolution is cruelty free?
Makeup Revolution won’t give me full responses to any emails, so I don’t know their real status. They’re not certified if that helps.
I just wanted to say thank you for everything! I use this website a lot and I love all of the resources. Do you know if Rodan + Fields is cruelty free? Great skin care products – however they are expensive and I do not want to invest if they are not cruelty free.
Thanks!
Thank you Hillary! I don’t consider any multi-level marketing company to be ethical, so I don’t do any research on those types of brands. It looks like Rodan + Fields falls under that category, so I can’t support them.
I am so grateful for all the work you’ve put into this! I am changing over to cruelty-free and I appreciate knowing there are so many different manufacturers that are getting on board.
Would you happen to know if the Czechoslovakian brands Dermacol or Ryor are CF? Ryor claims in their IG via hashtag that they are, but I could not find anything either way on their website.

I did contact Ryor and was informed they do not do animal testing and do not sell in China. This was the response:

Hello, no animal testing. Animal testing is forbiden in European Union for years. We or our suppliers do not test in EU or anywhere else. And we do not sell to China 🙂
Arbonne is certified vegan and on the leaping bunny list ❤️
I just read somewhere that mario bedescu is not cruelty free anymore because they have a store in china. Is that true? And also when I try to search it I keep seeing that makeupforever is cruelty free, why can’t this info be simple it’s so frustrating. -thanks
Kat Von D’s entire makeup line is vegan and cruelty free
Hi! Is this list updated? There are some brands that I don`t see on the list, such as Bath and body Works, Lime Crime, Surya Brasil, Inglot, LA Girl, LA Colors,Ritzy Mash etc. What about them? Thanks!
Yes, this list is updated! Bath & Body Works is no longer cruelty-free unfortunately, and Inglot isn’t clear about their suppliers. Out of the other ones, Lime Crime and LA Girl are cruelty-free for sure.
Hello! I’ve been using your website as a guide and just wanted to say a huge thank you for doing what you do!!:)
Also, i would like to ask, is Flormar cruelty free?
Thank you Min! Apologies but I’m not familiar with Flormar. Have you tried contacting them yourself?
Hi!!I’m new to cruelty-free makeups, I wonder if Morphe’s brushes and makeups are cruelty-free? and also to Sleek MakeUP please? I’ve searched on that but it says that it’s cruelty-free… I hope that you can help me :)))
Morphe can’t be considered cruelty-free since they’re not open about their policy. Still looking into Sleek though. 🙂
