The following list consists of all the cruelty-free brands we have vetted as cruelty-free based on our criteria, which can be found below. Its purpose is to help you shop truly cruelty-free no matter which products you need, and no matter what your budget is, anywhere and at any stores. You can use the filter to narrow the list based on your needs or preferences.
This list is for those who wish to avoid brands that test on animals or fund animal testing, and purchase only from the brands that have been vetted as cruelty-free. This means that the brands on our list have confirmed that no animal testing is performed on their finished products or ingredients during production, either by their company, their suppliers, or any third parties.
In order to ensure the brands we support do not put themselves at risk of animal testing, we do not consider brands that sell in China to be cruelty-free even if they use certain loopholes.

Our Criteria
All the brands found on this list were vetted to be cruelty-free, meaning:
- Finished Products: Their finished products are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Ingredients: Their ingredients are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Suppliers: Their suppliers do not test ingredients, raw materials, or finished products on animals.
- Third Parties: No third party is testing their finished products or ingredients animal on their behalf.
- Required by Law: They don’t test on animals where the law requires it, and are not sold in mainland China.

For example, you can look for cruelty-free hair care sold at Ulta, or choose to filter by skincare brands that are Leaping Bunny certified and 100% vegan and ship to your country, and so on. This system makes it easy to find cruelty-free brands that are tailored to you and your needs.

I just got back from Sephora and one of the skin care specialist mentioned that Drunk Elephant sells in smaller boutiques in China. I totally forgot to ask her if she means Mainland China or not. So, I am wondering if you can clear this up. Just wanna make sure since I just bought the DE serums last week, and I’d like to know if I should return it or not. (Thank goodness I haven’t use it yet.)

Can you please check R&Co for hair products? They say they are cruelty free and I believe they say vegan for most or all of their products.
Hey everyone! I just learned Everyday Minerals is NOT Leaping Bunny certified anymore. They’re not on the list and the answer I got from Cruelty Free International is that they haven’t recommitted to the Leaping Bunny Program, hence being removed from the list. 🙁 I immediately sent a message to Everyday Minerals concerning this matter and I encourage you all do the same so that it would get back on the list.
Should state that Superdrug is owned by A.S.Watson who also test in animals.
I think Elizabeth Mott is also cruelty-free. Please add the brand to the list!
Hi i was wondering if la splash and la girl are cruelty free? They claim to be but i don’t see them on the list so wasn’t sure. This list is great. Just ashame that it actually has to be like this 🙁

I’ve always been pretty good at staying on top of my makeup/skincare brands as far as animal testing goes, but when I was looking at the list of brands that DO test on animals and I got down to the household section, I realized just how ignorant I was about those products and I need to fix that ASAP.
Hi, Suzy! First off, I’d like to say thank you this fantastic resource page. Ever since switching to CF, this has been one of the main sites I use to help me make my purchases. I was just wondering, I’ve heard recently that Mario Badescu and IT Cosmetics may no longer be CF. Is there any validity to this? Also, has anyone ever looked into the CF status of Violet Voss? I’ve checked on other websites regarding their stance but I’ve come up with very little to work with.

I have emailed essence as they sell in wilko. The response i got was they dont test but dont know about their suppliers/ ingredients. They use lanolin beeswax silk etc so not vegan. Can anyone verify they are fully cruelty free?
Hello, can you update on smashbox again? Their website is different again and says they don’t test on animals, and it does not have the ‘where required by law’ statement anymore.

Hey Suzi, I think you should consider the brand Everyone or EO to your list. They make lotions and body stuff and they are verified by the leaping bunny.
How about NOW products? ?
I am finding this list a refreshing relief as it is a mine field trying to know products are truly safe.
I clicked on Fior after the list stated it’s 100% vegan and carries the leaping bunny however on the site it shows PETA not Cruelty Free International. My only other difficulty is a lot of the brands shown aren’t easily available in the uk. I tend to reply on Co-operative, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s and Astonish however this can be limiting especially for hair products.
Thank you for your hard work and helping making my ethical views a bit easier to live by. I go without rather than buy anything that doesn’t carry the bunny, although I am now considering Lush and can’t do a lot about the petrol I have to buy!

Hi there! I love your list. I just wanted to suggest a new CF/Vegan brand that launched recently. They’re called CLOVE + HALLOW, the founder is a native to my home state of Georgia. I haven’t personally tried their products but I think they might a be a good addition to the list.

Jocott Brands Inc. says they are cruelty free on their products, but no official cruelty free logo is on them and I don’t see the brand on either side of your list. I’ve bought some of their products from Winner’s here in Vancouver, Canada.

And what about AHAVA? They are using Peta logo and they are in the list of cruelty-free brands (+vegan) on the Peta’s website. Do they sell in China?
