The following list consists of all the cruelty-free brands we have vetted as cruelty-free based on our criteria, which can be found below. Its purpose is to help you shop truly cruelty-free no matter which products you need, and no matter what your budget is, anywhere and at any stores. You can use the filter to narrow the list based on your needs or preferences.
This list is for those who wish to avoid brands that test on animals or fund animal testing, and purchase only from the brands that have been vetted as cruelty-free. This means that the brands on our list have confirmed that no animal testing is performed on their finished products or ingredients during production, either by their company, their suppliers, or any third parties.
In order to ensure the brands we support do not put themselves at risk of animal testing, we do not consider brands that sell in China to be cruelty-free even if they use certain loopholes.
For brands that do test on animals, make sure to visit our list of Companies That Test On Animals.
Our Criteria
All the brands found on this list were vetted to be cruelty-free, meaning:
- Finished Products: Their finished products are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Ingredients: Their ingredients are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Suppliers: Their suppliers do not test ingredients, raw materials, or finished products on animals.
- Third Parties: No third party is testing their finished products or ingredients animal on their behalf.
- Required by Law: They don’t test on animals where the law requires it, and are not sold in mainland China.

Make-Up Atelier Paris as far as I know is cruelty free and I really do enjoy their 5 pan eye shadow palettes… Have you heard of them or tried them before?
Hi Suzi, I have recently come across this company called Juvia’s Place. Their products have a good rep and they say they are cruelty-free. They also use Ethylhexyl palmitate in their production which is sourced from palm oil. I guess the term cruelty-free mostly pertains to being against animal testing. Am I mistaken? I am curious.
Thank you

I’m looking for 100% vegan household cleaners that also have vegan/cruelty free parent companies (or no parent companies). I just heard Method is no longer cruelty-free, which is a huge disappointment. I was buying Seventh Generation, but their parent company tests on animals (from what I read). I also looked into Biokleen, but saw posts from a few years ago that rated it a “D” and compared it to Clorox (along those lines). I am looking for ONE brand that has a full line of Laundry detergents, fabric softeners, dryer sheets, scent boosters, etc. that are 100% vegan. I definitely want to keep the laundry scents the same, but the household cleaners can be any 100% vegan companies, but rather it be somewhat the same to make purchasing easier.
Hi there! I noticed Burt’s Bees was not a company on this list, though I recently checked Leaping Bunny and it is certified through them. I know the company is now owned by a parent company that is not certified, but you have companies (i.e. Nyx) like this included on your list. Do you have any other info about Burt’s Bees that I should know? Would be super sad to hear if things have changed for them 🙁
What about IDC and OGX? these say they are cruelty free but aren’t listed
Hi! I just wanted to add Jeffree Star cosmetics on this page! He’s privately owned and 100% cruelty-free and one of my favorite brands of lipsticks and highlighters!
Hi! Do you know if calia natural and new roots herbal Inc is cruelty free?they are Canadian companies. Thank you
Omiana is an makeup and skincare line that is certified by Leaping Bunny and PETA.
Seventh generation was recently acquired by Unilever 🙁
Do you know if calia natural and new roots herbal Inc both Canadian brands are cruelty free? Thanks
Hey!!
I live by this list, thanks!!
Two companies that could be investigated/ added to the list are ‘Picture Polish’ and ‘Soap and Glory’?
My preliminary research indicated they don’t test on animals/don’t sell in China but I could be wrong. Any chance you could have a look when you get the chance?
Thanks!!
I would like to know if Hask Greek Yogurt haircare products are cruelty free. The containers has the bunny and says not tested in animals but I didn’t see them on your list!
Thank you
I have been looking to get my hands on a Japanese and a Taiwanese list of cruelty free brands. I do know some of these sell over there, yet it has been difficult to get into more details. I have a kara list on Korean cruelty free. I just need more info on Asian brands.
Hi, thank you for this list and all the work that goes into it. Is it possible for you to look up Idun Minerals and Make Up Store? A lot of the brands on the current list aren’t available in my part of town, so I’d love for some more brands that are available in Scandinavia. I’ll insert the links to their webpages since mus is kind of a generic name. They both are claimed to be cruelty free, but I don’t know what kind of checks you do, so I thought I’d leave them here for your consideration.

Any updates on LA girl?
Hi, I’m wondering if you could add FM products to the ‘ cruelty free ‘ list? You may not be familiar with this company?…. if you would like their contact details to verify they are cruelty free then let me know and I will pass them on to you.
Hi, you could add Arbonne to your list! It is a completely vegan company! Every product is vegan and they never test anything on animals. ???
Isn’t Jeffree Star cruelty free?
Do you know if younique is cruelty free?? They claim to be, but it’s not on the list
What about Arbonne?
what is a cruelty free brand for detergent?
Drew Barrymore has a cosmetics line called FLOWER Beauty and she says they’re cruelty-free, I wanted to know if they actually were cruelty-free and if so they should definitely be on this list! Their products get great reviews.
Flower is on the list! 🙂
Hi,can you please clarify the status of faith in nature products? They have the leaping bunny label.
Is the brand Posh (home based, tiered, third party catalog & internet sales) also crielty free?! They claim to be. Thanks!
Thanks for a fantastic list (with tons of work involved!)
Couple companies I didn’t see/am curious about:
Arbonne – they’re leaping bunny certified and several of their products are vegan. I’ve used (and sold) their product for years. I’m hoping they haven’t changed something that I missed!
Younique – the reps I’ve spoken to say they’re cruelty-free, but not sure about any actual certifications. Do you know anything about them?
Joe Fresh – when asked, they claim to be cruelty-free, but don’t provide any support/evidence. I like their stuff, but I’ll drop them in a heartbeat if I hear they aren’t being honest about their policies.
I see that MD Formulations is on the alphabetical list under ‘M’ however when you click on it you are taken to Bare Minerals? I am pretty sure MD Formulations tests on animals and has been removed from the market?
They don’t test on animals and they’re owned by Bare Minerals. I’m not personally familiar with their brand otherwise though.
Conflicting info on Kiko, any news on whether cruelty free or not and if sold in China. Need to be 100% sure before I purchase again.
Yes, I recently wrote an update. Kiko is cruelty-free.
I was wondering about Elemins and Tula skin care brands. Both say they are cruelty free…but I wanted to confirm since they are not on your list.
Hey
Is Makeup Revolution cruelty free?
Arbonne??
