The following list consists of all the cruelty-free brands we have vetted as cruelty-free based on our criteria, which can be found below. Its purpose is to help you shop truly cruelty-free no matter which products you need, and no matter what your budget is, anywhere and at any stores. You can use the filter to narrow the list based on your needs or preferences.
This list is for those who wish to avoid brands that test on animals or fund animal testing, and purchase only from the brands that have been vetted as cruelty-free. This means that the brands on our list have confirmed that no animal testing is performed on their finished products or ingredients during production, either by their company, their suppliers, or any third parties.
In order to ensure the brands we support do not put themselves at risk of animal testing, we do not consider brands that sell in China to be cruelty-free even if they use certain loopholes.

Our Criteria
All the brands found on this list were vetted to be cruelty-free, meaning:
- Finished Products: Their finished products are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Ingredients: Their ingredients are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Suppliers: Their suppliers do not test ingredients, raw materials, or finished products on animals.
- Third Parties: No third party is testing their finished products or ingredients animal on their behalf.
- Required by Law: They don’t test on animals where the law requires it, and are not sold in mainland China.

For example, you can look for cruelty-free hair care sold at Ulta, or choose to filter by skincare brands that are Leaping Bunny certified and 100% vegan and ship to your country, and so on. This system makes it easy to find cruelty-free brands that are tailored to you and your needs.

The Body Shop is no longer a L’Oreal brand. They were bought by Natura last year. Natura is a cruelty free Brazilian brand.
Have you heard of Poofy Organics? It is a small company based in New Jersey. They are on PETA’s list of cruelty-free companies. Once you have done your research, you may want to include them on the list.

I use Sukin products and I noticed they did not have the 100% vegan logo on your list. I know their products are vegan and I clicked on the link to their website where it states this as well. Hope to see this added to support this great brand of skincare

Thanks for this awesome list! I have one concern though: what about the products listed as cruelty free but not vegan? Isn’t that contradictory? I assume that it means there are still animal products inside, which means they support animal exploitation and slaughter.
I would love more insight on this please.

Liz Earle is not owned by Avon anymore. It’s owned by Walgreens Boots alliance. They don’t test in animals.

Ddear suzi, i sent an email/post earlier but couldnt hear back from you that is why i wanted to ask again. Sorry if i missed your response. I was wondering missha’s cruelty free standing and emailed them. Received their response on 13/12/2017 (i can forward their email). They stated the below. So i understand they are cruelty free? Right? Or am i missing something?

Thank you for your inquiry. Missha is strongly against animal cruelty, therefore we do not test on animals. All possible ingredients are derived from plants, however some products do have animal derived ingredients, such as snail slime, pearl, etc. However, these do not harvest harm to the animals. Missha does sell in China, however, due to their law, our main manufacture do not distribute to them directly, therefore they manage China’s own manufacturer carrying different/possible products that do not require animal testing. Hi I have two brands that I think should be added to this list; Jeffree Star – vegan and cruelty free with all products, and Essano – cruelty free and some products are vegan. I’ve noticed a lot of people comment about Jeffree Star and it seems you don’t take notice to it, I know he is a complicated person but Kat is the same as she is on the list.
I googled Hempz, they say they are cruelty free and 100% vegan. I do Not see them on anyone’s list though . I respect your opinion and would love to hear it .

Hello, i was told recently that The Body Shop is newly bought out and the parent company is also cruelty free! could you double check the parent company?
I’m uncertain about “the body shop” and “too faced”, if they are owned by L’oreal and Esteé Lauder. Are they really cruelty free?
I noticed that Urban Decay cleansers and setting sprays now say “Urban Decay by Skindinavia”. But I don’t see Skindinavia on the list of CF. Their website doesn’t claim to be CF, and the Urban Decay boxes (cleansers and setting sprays) had no markings to indicate they were CF. Is Urban Decay a no-go now?
