The following list consists of all the cruelty-free brands we have vetted as cruelty-free based on our criteria, which can be found below. Its purpose is to help you shop truly cruelty-free no matter which products you need, and no matter what your budget is, anywhere and at any stores. You can use the filter to narrow the list based on your needs or preferences.
This list is for those who wish to avoid brands that test on animals or fund animal testing, and purchase only from the brands that have been vetted as cruelty-free. This means that the brands on our list have confirmed that no animal testing is performed on their finished products or ingredients during production, either by their company, their suppliers, or any third parties.
In order to ensure the brands we support do not put themselves at risk of animal testing, we do not consider brands that sell in China to be cruelty-free even if they use certain loopholes.

Our Criteria
All the brands found on this list were vetted to be cruelty-free, meaning:
- Finished Products: Their finished products are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Ingredients: Their ingredients are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Suppliers: Their suppliers do not test ingredients, raw materials, or finished products on animals.
- Third Parties: No third party is testing their finished products or ingredients animal on their behalf.
- Required by Law: They don’t test on animals where the law requires it, and are not sold in mainland China.

I recently have been cleaning out my makeup collection and getting rid of any non cruelty- free makeup. I now only buy brands I know are cruelty-free, so just wanted to say this list has helped me sort the good from the bad companies, so thank you. My collection is now mostly Essence, Nyx and Urban Decay.

Hi, is w7 no longer cruelty free?
I’m new at going out of my way to look for cruelty free products. I have a product that has the bunny logo, cruelty free but Made in China. So as long as it not Sold in China it’s okay? “Lila Grace” is the brand. I also returned a makeup “b.c beauty cosmetics” because it read “not tested on animals, does not have the logo but it is made in China. Please help. Learning.

What about Rocky Mountain Soap? They’re Canadian based and don’t test on animals.

Why is Arbonne not on the list? They are vegan certified.
Is Devacurl no longer cruelty free? Everything Ive ever seen or read says that are but they aren’t on this list. I am really hoping they still are its the only brand that works on my crazy curly hair.

Hi I am sorry I can’t quite agree with your list I don’t know why I don’t seem to rely on your results as I have seen in most of your articles your findings do not have transparency. For expample why would you add those brands who are affiliated with non cruelty free brands in the list for example Estée Lauder and L’Oréal are parent companies of some of cruelty free brands but they them selves aren’t cruelty free. Urban decay, bare minerals, the body shop are to name a few.
In other list where brands who sell one china are required to test on anilmals and I couldn’t find The body shop in that list whereas it does sell it’s products in China.

Superdrug’s ‘B’ brand is probably not cruelty free as on the packaging it states that it is made in China – noticed today on lipstick and foundation.
Hi there. Thanks for the list of cruelty-free, PETA pledged and 100% Vegan companies. I especially like the notation of parent companies that are not cruelty-free. It’s quite helpful as that seems to be constantly changing. I’m curious though, I noticed that there is no notation besides Seventh Generation. I was under the impression that Unilever bought them about a year ago. Is this not the case? Thanks so much!
It might be worth investigating the Body Shop (it’s a UK company), it’s recently been sold by l’oreal to Natura in Brazil.

The body shop is no longer owned by L’oreal. You should state parent comany or companies on every brand if they have one. Bulldog is owned by an animal testing brand edgewell personal care animal test. Superdrug is also owned by animal testing parent and they sell animal testing brands. As Watson animal tests.
Batiste is a British brand (dry shampoo) that is also popular in Canada – they don’t test on animals and are a fraction of the price of Bumble and Bumble that do test on animals
I noticed that Burt’s Bees has already pulled their products out of China. Now they only sell their products to China through ecommerce, so they’re cruelty free again.

I’m curious about makeup and skin care products sold by MLM companies who claim to be vegan or cruelty free… such as Perfectly Posh and SeneGence. I’m an independent distributor for one of these companies and customer service has claimed their products to be as they advertise, but products are unmarked.
Any insight on this would be fabulous to help me ensure I’m supporting what I believe in.

I’ve recently been trying this brand of beauty products called Dr Botanicals. It is from the UK. In it’s website it claimed to be cruelty free. Is there a reason why it’s not in your list? Is it sold in China?
And Nudestix has been removed from your list is it because they are sold in China now? I’ve read from another site that they manufacture their products there so they are not required to do tests? Is that true?
