The following list consists of all the cruelty-free brands we have vetted as cruelty-free based on our criteria, which can be found below. Its purpose is to help you shop truly cruelty-free no matter which products you need, and no matter what your budget is, anywhere and at any stores. You can use the filter to narrow the list based on your needs or preferences.
This list is for those who wish to avoid brands that test on animals or fund animal testing, and purchase only from the brands that have been vetted as cruelty-free. This means that the brands on our list have confirmed that no animal testing is performed on their finished products or ingredients during production, either by their company, their suppliers, or any third parties.
In order to ensure the brands we support do not put themselves at risk of animal testing, we do not consider brands that sell in China to be cruelty-free even if they use certain loopholes.
For brands that do test on animals, make sure to visit our list of Companies That Test On Animals.
Our Criteria
All the brands found on this list were vetted to be cruelty-free, meaning:
- Finished Products: Their finished products are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Ingredients: Their ingredients are not tested on animals by the company or any other company.
- Suppliers: Their suppliers do not test ingredients, raw materials, or finished products on animals.
- Third Parties: No third party is testing their finished products or ingredients animal on their behalf.
- Required by Law: They don’t test on animals where the law requires it, and are not sold in mainland China.

For example, you can look for cruelty-free hair care sold at Ulta, or choose to filter by skincare brands that are Leaping Bunny certified and 100% vegan and ship to your country, and so on. This system makes it easy to find cruelty-free brands that are tailored to you and your needs.

So glad to have found this site! I just learned that Dollar Tree (I live in NYC) is currently selling several items that are cruelty free. Salon Selectives Shampoo and Conditioner and all Dermasil lotions are not tested on animals and only $1 each!

Why does it matter if the brand will be sold in China?
Product laws in China require animal testing in order to be sold.
I need a new brand that makes dog shampoo. I used to use Burt’s Bees, but with the new shoes of their new sales to China, I’m @ a loss. Please help!

Hi, there’s a company called 3ina, which I think is relatively new, and it isn’t on either of your cruelty free/non cruelty free lists. There website says nothing about animal testing and they won’t respond to my emails which makes me think that they’re not cruelty free but I’m not sure?

Hey, I know it’s been a while since you posted this, but I’m currently in transition and I read about Loreal selling the body shop to a Brazilian company named Natura, which doesn’t test on animals for the past 10 years. Is that legit? That makes the body shop 100% cruelty free?

I am not sure of their cruelty-free status! I do know that Kokie, Hard Candy and Flower are all cruelty-free brands available at Walmart.
So i was updating my ipsy subscription to take off all the brands that are not cruelty free and lime crime is on my subscription. Lime Crime is not on your list of Cruelty Free items but when i looked it up, the site says they are cruelty free and vegan. They are also certified by peta and the leaping bunny.

Hi. I haven’t looked through your entire list but I did notice Urban Decay is still listed as Leaping Bunny certified. Urban Decay chose to leave the Leaping Bunny Program earlier this year, which likely means the company is going to be including animal-tested ingredients in their products. I recently bought a concealer from Anastasia Beverly Hills under the belief that it is a completely cruelty free brand. I just noticed on the box that it says “Made in PRC” (People’s Republic of China). Doea China only require testing on animals if the product is sold there, or does it also require it if manufactured there?
Hi Anna! China only requires testing on animals for foreign cosmetics being sold in China. So if it is manufactured in China and sold elsewhere, it can still be cruelty-free.

I noticed when I bought Batiste dry shampoo that the label said 100% vegan and cruelty free. Do you know if this is accurate?
I haven’t yet received a clear response on Batiste’s animal testing policy but I am looking into it!
