This revised bill aims to discontinue the use of animals in cosmetic tests and prohibit the sale of any product tested on animals after a specified date. Notably, the language has been simplified for clarity and increased chances of approval.

Surprisingly, the U.S. is currently the only North American country without a ban on cosmetic animal testing. Both Canada and Mexico have implemented such measures.

Representative Beyer strongly advocates for an end to cosmetic animal testing, deeming it unnecessary and outdated. He emphasizes that the cosmetics industry has already transitioned to more humane practices.

Echoing these sentiments, Representative Buchanan emphasizes the inhumanity of subjecting animals to painful experiments for cosmetic testing. He urges the U.S. to align with global efforts in banning animal testing, citing advancements in alternative scientific methods.

Monica Engebretson from Cruelty Free International commends this renewed initiative, highlighting its bipartisan support and alignment with successful state legislation and Canada's cruelty-free cosmetics law.

An insightful 2019 poll underscores widespread opposition to animal testing for cosmetics, with nearly 80% supporting a federal ban. Importantly, this support transcends party lines, uniting Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.
