Dear Kitty,

You will be happy to know that Physicians Formula does not conduct any
tests, or commissions any outside facility to conduct tests that involve
the use of animals.

The safety of our products is established using such alternate methods as
“in-vitro” testing, human clinical evaluations and human use-trials under
the supervision of a Board Certified Dermatologist. We do not buy
ingredients from suppliers that test on Animals, nor do we sell products in
China or Hong Kong.

We hope this information was helpful and appreciate your interest in our
products we hope to have the opportunity to be of service to you in the
future. If you have further questions contact the Consumer Relations
Department at 1-800-227-0333 Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:00
a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

  • physicians Formula is owned by Markwin International Inc. Markwin is based in china and never got back to me when I questioned them about their connection with physicians formula. Physicians formula also did not answer my question and instead just told me to contact Markwin. I do not trust physicians formula because I believe it is the same Markwin since there seems to be no other and on markwin’s website it shows the brands that they own

  • Hi Suzy!
I just asked Physicians Formula about a lip gloss that does not indicate Cruelty Free… she stated it is not Cruelty Free 🙁
