Love Beauty & Planet is in the grey area.
This means that it's currently unclear whether or not the brand is cruelty-free, since they haven't provided enough information. Some brands that fall under this category refuse to share their complete animal testing policy or answer questions about their cruelty-free status.
Love Beauty & Planet is owned by Unilever, a company that is not cruelty-free.
You pointed out that its parent company does testing on animals, but I do not understand why this would mean that the child company would be guilty of being “not cruelty-free”.
Is this implying that “Love Beauty & Planet” could still be performing animal testing under the belt of its parent company?
Is this implying that companies are intentionally trying to avoid the “not cruelty-free” lists by having the parent companies do all the animal testing for them?
I’m also surprised by this. On their page, it says they’re certified Cruelty-Free by PETA which is a well known animal rights organization. Does this mean that PETA is not a reliable organization in verifying the cruelty-free claims?
I recently started using their products because they clearly and specifically state they do not test on animals. Can you please confirm that this is a lie? I am emphatically Cruelty-Free in my home and I’m very upset if they have sucked me in by lying on their packaging !!!
