True Nature Botanicals, formerly known as Marie Veronique Organics, specialize in natural and effective skincare with an emphasis on aging skin. I’ve mentioned the True Nature Botanicals Pacific Exfoliating Moisture Mask in my recent post about My Current Cruelty-Free Skincare Routine. I’m still using this product and it’s time for a review!
What It Does
This gentle yet effective AHA mask exfoliates the skin using lactic acid, which is gentle enough for those with sensitive skin, while also providing moisture. Lactic acid gets rid of dead skin cells while keeping skin moisturized and plump, helping to keep skin smooth, young, and healthy-looking. I’m a big fan of lactic acid myself, but finding AHA products that use lactic acid (and not glycolic acid) can be a challenge. Nothing in this mask is harsh and drying to the skin; it also contains avocado butter for rich hydration and additonal benefits (fatty acids and vitamins).
This mask has a creamy texture and a light peachy color, and application is easy. I don’t find the smell to be particularly pleasant, as the tuberose (I absolutely love tuberose scents!) and jasmine essential oils are very overpowered by an almost-medicinal smell. I apply a relatively small amount to my whole face, and I can definitely feel it working on the skin! After 4-5 minutes, I rinse everything off and it leaves my face hydrated and smooth.
Who It’s For
If you’re just starting out with chemical exfoliants or you want to add an AHA mask to your existing exfoliating routine, this is pretty much ideal. It’s gentle, but it works. I would also recommend it to those with sensitive skin (like mine is). You can buy this product from True Nature Botanicals here.
