What it does
Celestial is described as a moisturizer for sensitive skin. It's claimed to be gentle and appropriate for red and irritated skin. All I know is that it works for my sensitive skin. My favorite thing about it is the texture: it's extremely rich and moisturizing without being heavy or sticky. It feels melty or buttery on the skin, and while it does a while to sink in, it's pleasant. The almond butter gives it an absolutely amazing scent, too. Once it's on your face, it leaves even the driest skin moisturized for hours. I find it perfect to use as a night cream, but I also use it under makeup, in which case I have to wait a good 15 minutes before I apply sunscreen or foundation.
Pros
- Rich and ultra-moisturizing.
- Amazing smell!
- Never broke me out.
- 100% Vegan.
Cons
- Contains parabens. This is a major issue for me and I'm hoping Lush will change the formulation in the very near future. It also contains triethanolamine (TEA) which isn't super safe.
Verdict: 8/10
This is one of the best facial moisturizers I've tried for my sensitive skin. It's particularly good during the winter when my skin is at its driest and needs something extra-rich and soothing. The price is fair, and one pot lasts me about 6 months. I'm really hoping that Lush will reformulate this product and make it self-preserving. I would have given this moisturizer a 9 if it wasn't for the parabens.
