What it does
The is a cream-stick foundation that provides medium coverage and a natural, dewy-looking finish without being overly shiny. The stick packaging -- which, might I add, looks very sleek and clean -- makes application super quick and easy. Although this foundation is called a "Foundation + Concealer Stick", it doesn't measure up to an actual concealer in terms of coverage, but it can double as an under-eye concealer for moderate dark circles. Emphasis on moderate!
How I use it
I apply the stick in strokes all over my face, then blend it out using a dense, fluffy foundation brush. The foundation blends out easily and looks natural with very little effort this way. Because I prefer a fuller coverage, I apply a good amount of it, and it doesn't look cakey. This is one of the cool things about it: you can easily tweak the coverage according to your needs and make it as sheer as you want, or build it up to medium. It hides all redness and discoloration, and you only need an additional concealer if you have any spots to cover up. Like with all cream foundations, I recommend wearing a good primer underneath it in order to make sure it applies as smoothly as possible.
I use the lightest shade, Pale Ivory, and it's a close match for my NC10 skintone. However, it's definitely a little more on the pink side, and would be perfect for those with pale skin and neutral to cool undertones. If you're interested in purchasing this foundation, I added swatches of the NARS Sheer Glow foundation for comparison. As you can see, Fair Golden is very close to Gobi, which is around NC20. There are also 5 darker shades available.
Pros
- I absolutely LOVE the finish! It's natural and looks like healthy skin.
- Quick and easy application. Perfect for when you're in a rush.
- No harsh chemicals, no parabens, nothing nasty in it.
- Non-comedogenic ingredients.
- The lightest shade is very pale. If you have trouble finding a foundation that's pale enough, W3ll People's got you covered.
Cons
- Not suited for all skin types. It needs some slip in order to look smooth on the skin, so it might not be the best for those with dry skin.
- If you want the most coverage, you'll go through the tube quickly. However if you don't have a lot of discoloration to cover up, this will last a while.
- It only comes in 8 shades, and mixing is impossible. It might be hard for some people to find a match.
Verdict
If you're looking for a day-to-day, natural-looking foundation that provides up to medium coverage, definitely look into this one. If you're in a hurry in the morning, the stick application will save you time and potential frustration, as it makes the application not only quick, but also effortless and the product blends super fast. The natural ingredients of this foundation are also a huge positive for me, and a part of what makes it a great foundation to wear every day. Another great thing: if you're prone to breakouts, none of the ingredients used in this foundation will clog your pores. I would recommend this for those with normal, combination, sensitive, or oily skin.

Thanx for the great info! And for the full list of ingredients!!! I’ve been trying to find something to replace my Vichy concealer stick due to it using a palm oil derived alcohol in the ingredients( isopropyl palmitate)?? I think this one from W3ll people might just b the ticket!!! ?????? As for any issues with color matching…and the comment about being unable to mix colors to get the perfect color match…well u absolutely can!!! Yay!!! ?? Here’s what I learned from using the Vichy concealer stick…
I fall right in the middle of the lightest color 15 and the next color up 25 in the Vichy foundation stick…if I were to use only the 15 it would b too light!!! If I was to use only the 25 it would b too dark ? So one day I decided to make lines on my face using both 15 & 25 …every other one…and when I blended it out with a beauty blender it was the absolute perfect color match!!! ??????
I’m sure the same thing would work with this foundation stick ? Hope this is helpful info!!!?
Sorry I didn’t realise that, been doing loads of research into cosmetics lately and must have got confused as to which websites endorsed what
I don’t understand how it can be vegan if the ingredients list includes: ‘
Cera Alba (Beeswax)*, Silica, Castor Isostearate Beeswax Succinate**’
am I missing something?
It’s not vegan and I didn’t tag it as vegan or made any vegan claims!
Sorry, I must have got confused – I’ve done loads of cosmetics research lately and must have lost track of which sites promote specific things!
Just came across your blog and am in love – just like Annabelle 🙂 Pale Ivory is the only foundation I’ve ever found to match my skin flawlessly. However, I find that it slips off of my skin during the day. Thank you for suggesting using a primer, I am going to try this and see if I can make this gorgeous product work for me. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful, friendly, warm community 🙂
If you have a moment, just wanted to ask how you think Sappho Liquid Foundation in Mia compares to W3LL Pale Ivory? Thank you very much!!!
Hi Rae, thanks so much for your kind words!
I prefer Sappho’s foundation for my skin type. The coverage is similar but less buildable, meaning Sappho’s foundation won’t give you as much coverage BUT it glides on my skin beautifully and stays put for a longer period of time. The shade Mia is very close to Pale Ivory. 🙂
Thank you tremendously, Suzi!!! I just ordered Sappho Mia and I am so excited to try it! Thank you so much for taking time to respond with such thoughtful details. I really appreciate you – and love your blog!! 😀
:))
I’ve just discovered your blog and I absolutely love it!!! We’re definitely passionate about the same things. This foundation stick looks pretty interesting, I’m in the UK though so I’m not sure where I could purchase it over here! Annie xxx
