Vapour is one of the best organic beauty brands out there. I’m already a huge fan of their liquid foundation, which I’ve reviewed here on the blog. Here’s the lowdown on another one of their most popular products (drumroll!): their luxurious Siren lipsticks! The shades I have here are Saucy, Chere, and Madam.
What It Does
Simply put, the Vapour Siren Lipstick ($25) is the ideal lip product to wear on a day-to-day basis, in my opinion.
These lipsticks give you a nice soft flush of color that looks natural. They’re not as opaque as your typical lipsticks, and they have all the pros of a lip balm while still providing great color. Think of these as 75% lipstick and 25% lip balm.
On the lips, they look shiny and healthy. They’re moisturizing and don’t dry them out.
If you’ve ever tried Clinique’s Black Honey Almost Lipstick, these are in the same vein, but more like a lipstick and less like a lip balm. For those looking for a cruelty-free alternative to the Clinique Almost Lipstick, definitely check these out!
A great thing about Vapour is their use of 100% natural ingredients, most out of which are organic. Here’s the ingredient list for those interested:
Who It’s For
If you’re into the ultra-matte lip trend, forget these! Their finish is very natural and glossy. Naturally glossy and pretty.
On the other hand, if you’re a lip balm kind of girl and you’re looking to amp up your game, definitely try these out! They have 26 shades to choose from — even some reds and deeper colors — but the formula of this lipstick makes it still look fresh and natural.
I have to add that these aren’t vegan-friendly, as they do contain Carmine and Beeswax.
These lipsticks are low-maintnance and great for daily, natural looks. I feel that you don’t need a lip liner with them. They give your lips a flush of color without over-doing it.
My favorite thing about them is their natural ingredients. I love wearing organic lipsticks because lipstick is probably the beauty product that’s the closest to being ingested. It’s gross, but it’s true. Some lipsticks even contain very iffy ingredients such as lead. If you ask me, it’s better to play it safe and leave the less natural lipsticks for special occasions.
Sounds like a lip product you’d like to try? You can grab these at The Detox Market for $25 a pop.
