If you’re on a budget or you’re just starting out with makeup, it can be difficult to find truly great products at the drugstore. I often mention how hit-or-miss some of the budget-friendly brands are, and that definitely holds true. So I’ve put together this little list of 5 everyday makeup essentials that are all under $5. They’ll last you a long time, perform awesomely, and won’t break the bank!
Wet’n’Wild Walking On Eggshells Eyeshadow Trio ($3)
These guys make the best drugstore eyeshadows, and they were one of my favorite brands back when I was starting with makeup! This particular trio contains dupes for three really popular MAC shadows.
Jordana Easyliner Lip Liner
What’s cool about this lip liner is that it’s retractable! No more wasting time sharpening when you’re in a rush. It’s also the perfect consistency, doesn’t dry out your lips, and performs comparably to a higher-priced lip liner. Why pay more?
Wet’n’Wild Megalast Lipstick ($2.50)
Another great product from Wet’n’Wild for the price. They’re available in a ton of colors, and you might find some MAC dupes — including one for Russian Red. They’re pigmented and have a good lasting power.
ELF Eyebrow Kit ($3)
This one’s very popular, and it’s reminiscent of a well-known similar product — for a tiny fraction of the price. It has both a powder and a wax, meaning that you can fill your brows before setting them in place. Easy and natural-looking! It comes in 4 shades too, which is bound to match most eyebrows.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk ($4.50)
Milk is a pure white liner. It’s also huge and super pigmented. There are countless ways to use this little gem. If you have any sub-par eyeshadows, applying Milk as a base will make them pop. For pale ladies, it can also be blended in and used as a highlighter.
