This means that it's currently unclear whether or not the brand is cruelty-free, since they haven't provided enough information. Some brands that fall under this category refuse to share their complete animal testing policy or answer questions about their cruelty-free status.

The brand itself claims to be cruelty-free and not to test on animals. However, when asked about their suppliers, they refused to give any details claiming it wasn't possible due to legal reasons.

  • I contacted them and asked if they require suppliers to be cruelty-free. They wouldn’t respond, they don’t have any certifications such as Leaping Bunny. Seems like false advertising and they need to stop making this claim and misleading people.

  • Hi Suzana, because of my love for Sun Bum I contacted them via their “Ask the Bum” feature on their website and after a bit of prodding about their ingredients, I got this response:

“Our raw materials are also cruelty free, and is why we can claim cruelty free on
    The package:)”

This was from Johnna Branson. I know this isn’t enough to get them out of your gray area,
(especially since brands claim to be cf under all sorts of specious conditions), but maybe
it can help you get an answer.
