Graydon GLOW SPF30 Sunscreen Review

Grayon Products offer a wide range of skin and body care that’s good for your skin, filled with truly natural ingredients, and promises to feel luxurious. I’ve been using their Glow sunscreen under my foundation lately, and I’m pretty pleased with it.

Purified water (aqua), zinc oxide (zinc oxide), cetyl alcohol (coconut product), stearyl alcohol (mixed plant), shea butter (butyrospernum parkii), cocoa butter (theobroma cacao), aloe vera (aloe barbadensis), cherry kernel oil (prunus avium), rice bran oil (oryza sativa), pumpkin seed oil (cucurbita maxima), buriti oil (mauritia flexuosa), sodium chloride (mixed plant), raspberry seed oil (rubus idaeus), seabuckhorn oil (hippophae rhamnoides), mica + iron oxide, sodium lactate (sodium-lactate), green tea (camellia sinensis), rosemary co2 extract (rosmarinus officinalis L).

First of all, the ingredients are fully natural, which includes the sun protection: the physical sunscreen, zinc oxide, provides an SPF of 30, which is perfect for daily protection. Sunscreen is an absolute must during any season, and although I ditched my summery SPF 50 for something lighter, I still make sure to wear something above an SPF of 15 in the fall and winter, which is hard to find! This is a “face and body” sunscreen, but I’ve only used it on my face and none of the ingredients in it broke me out or caused any irritation. It also comes in a pump, which is super practical, and one pump is enough to cover the whole face.

What surprised me the first time I used this product was its dark color: it’s tinted! The product itself is almost orange against my skin tone, but fortunately it’s not at all pigmented and blends out to a completely transparent cream once spread out. I can assure you that it matches every skin tone, from the palest to the darkest. About the “glow” aspect: their website mentions a “subtle shimmer” and a “natural glow”, but this isn’t my experience. Yes, the shimmer is subtle, but it’s more glittery than glowy. I expected something more along the lines of a glowy, dewy finish, but I was wrong. I love a “glowy” face, but not so much a glittery one! Fortunately, although the glitter looks very concentrated once you pump it out, it becomes more subtle when it’s spread out. And topping it with foundation makes it even more subtle.

My favorite thing about this sunscreen is its finish and the the fact that it’s non-greasy. At all. It dries to a matte, velvety finish within less than two minutes! Many sunscreens are greasy and take forever to sink into the skin, but not this one! I love the formula and was impressed by it. For this reason, although I wasn’t completely smitten with Glow, I’m sure their non-glittery counterpart, Sun Cream, is more my jam. All their stuff uses awesome natural ingredients, and I was impressed enough by this product to look into their whole skincare line!
