An Introduction to Nyl Skincare: Simple, Clean, Vegan

222

Nyl Skincare is a cruelty-free and 100% vegan independent company specializing in face and body products. Their approach is very minimalistic, and they only use natural ingredients free from potentially harmful and nasty chemicals. You’ll find no parabens, no petrochemicals, no artificial fragrance or dye, and no synthetic preservatives — nyl stands for nothing, meaning nothing nasty in this line!

For those of you who love simple, minimal-ingredient products, this company truly uses the smallest number of ingredients in each product, many of them being organic. Common ingredients used include Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Vegetable Glycerine and Castile Soap in cleansers, and Essential Oils. Here’s the lowdown on the stuff I tried!

foaming

Foaming Castile Hand Soap: Leaves hands soft and smells a lot like Ginger. My boyfriend, who’s a Ginger fanatic (although not a ginger himself), loves this stuff!

Organic Castile Soap (Contains: water, organic coconut oil, sunflower oil, castor oil, citric acid, and rosemary extract)
, Organic Vegetable Glycerine, Organic Essential Oils of Bergamot, Grapefruit and Lemongrass.

lotion

Whipped Hand & Body Lotion: Moisturizing and thick. Again, smells like ginger. It’s water-based and uses natural preservatives.

Purified Water, Organic Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Organic Candelilla Wax, Organic Rosemary Extract, Organic Vitamin E Oil, Organic Essential Oils, Grapefruit Seed Extract.

scrub

Gentle Sugar Body Polish: This was my absolute favorite item! The sugar is just the right size; not too abrasive but definitely gives a good exfoliation! It leaves my skin moisturized and soft, and has an amazing citrus/grapefruit smell I love.

Organic Unrefined Cane Sugar, Organic Rosehip Seed Oil, Organic Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Organic Grape Seed Oil, Organic Essential Oils.

makeupremover

Gentle Rosewater Makeup Remover: This is the dud of the bunch. It has few ingredients and they’re all mostly non-comedogenic, which is great. It made from 1/3 rosewater, 1/3 vegetable glycerine, and 1/3 oils. Getting this in your eyes will result in stinging and cloudy vision for a while. Not into it, but still appreciate the ingredients that don’t clog pores.

Organic Rosewater, Organic Vegetable Glycerine, Chardonnay Grape Seed Oil, Organic Meadowfoam Seed Oil.

facewash

Rosewater Face Wash: Doesn’t really foam which is a good thing. I’m not sure if this is because it only has a tiny amount of Castile Soap (which is too drying to use as a face wash on its own). Doesn’t feel like it leaves my skin, so I’ve been using it as a morning cleanser and it’s quite nice.

Organic Rosewater, Organic Vegetable Glycerine, Organic Castile Soap (Contains: water, organic coconut oil. sunflower oil, castor oil, citric acid, and rosemary extract).

nyl-velvet-transformation-serum

Velvet Transformative Serum: I love this serum. It might not smell like roses or even very pleasant at all, but it contains all sorts of skin-loving ingredients and antioxidants. I also love this serum in particular out of everything else I tried because it’s undiluted and 100% made from oils.

Organic Rosewater, Organic Vegetable Glycerine, Organic Castile Soap (Contains: water, organic coconut oil. sunflower oil, castor oil, citric acid, and rosemary extract).
