Booda Butter Review: Vegan Lip Balm & Moisturizer

I’m going to share with you a vegan gem for skin and body care: Booda Butter! This Leaping-Bunny-certified company makes lip balm as well as the yummiest vegan moisturizer I’ve ever tried. Both of these are completely natural and made with very few ingredients such as coconut oil, jojoba oil, and olive oil. Their Body Butters are multi-purpose and are claimed to help with dry skin, razorburn, sunburn, scars, stretchmarks (as the moisturizer contains cocoa butter), tattoo care, and more!

Absolutely none of the ingredients used in Booda Butter are synthetic, and over half are even edible, because as Booda Organics say: “What goes ON your body, will go IN your body!”

I love this! It makes me feel good about putting the stuff on my skin and on my lips as much as I want, without the fear of nasty chemicals. With many body lotions and lip balms, I have to pace myself because of the parabens, synthetic fragrance, and other chemicals. This one’s completely natural and waterless, making it not only self-preserving but also incredibly rich, luxurious, and moisturizing. Just take a look at the picture below!

Moisturizer (above, 14$ for 2.3 oz): Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil (*Organic)

Oh. My. God. Can’t you tell how heavenly this body butter is just by looking at its texture and consistency? It’s so thick and rich, making it a dream for the driest of skins. It goes on so buttery smooth and melts to an oil that isn’t sticky or greasy at all. It’s the perfect blend of all the butters and oils! They really hit the sweet spot. And speaking of sweet spots, don’t let me forget to mention that this moisturizer smells like cake frosting! It’s labeled as “unscented”, but as soon as I opened it, I was overwhelmed by how delicious it smells. It’s not just me; my boyfriend also noticed the cake frosting smell, and totally loved it too! I swear this could be bottled into one of those gourmand fragrances, and it doesn’t have any fragrance and perfume in it whatsoever. The yummy scent lingers on the skin a bit, but it’s still very subtle. You can buy this goodie here.

Lip balm (above): Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Sweet Almond Oil & Candelilla Wax (*Organic)

Now for the lip balm! I love the texture of this lip balm and it’s quite different from beeswax-based balms. It has a very light consistency which feels a lot like coconut oil on the lips, but it’s perfectly moisturizing and healing. For under 4$, this is an amazing find.

Booda Butter is essentially to moisturizer what Dr. Bronner is to soap, and if you’re a fan of Dr. Bronner’s all-in-one body wash, you’ll love Booda Organics. Their natural and healthy Body Butter has over 50 uses. Besides using it as a moisturizer, I gave it a shot as a cleansing balm: it completely removed all my makeup, left my face soft, and never broke me out or irritated my skin or stung my eyes. I also applied a tiny little bit to the ends of my hair after after shampooing and it worked like a charm to smooth out dry and damaged tips. You can see more uses for Booda Butter right here, and don’t forget to check out their whole line of products!

This is da’ balm! ☺️ Especially nice for pre-bed hand treatment. It adds a nice shine/management to hair. Smells so much like chocolate from the cocoa butter content that you want to use it as a condiment. Amazing lubricant! The lip balm is definitely light and NOT pasty-candlewaxy. (If this had anti-UVA/UVB properties I would have it on all day, every day.)
